相传，酒仙李白化身升仙以后，依然留恋人间美酒。一日，酒仙闲游八方，路经茅台镇，被下界一农家酒香所吸引，便前去讨要美酒品尝。由于此酒醇香诱人，酒仙不由多喝了几杯，直到如痴如醉的状态，才恋恋不舍的回家。于是，后人便为此酒起名：醉仙归。
